Summer Mission Project 2010
I am excited to invite all students presently in the 7th grade (09-10) through the 12th grade our Ambassador Camp Work Project 2010. The dates for our trip are June 14th-18th. The blessing of a work project is the opportunity to learn character development, hard work, team building and servanthood. It also allows us to impact a community or an organization with the glory of Christ.
Ambassador Camp is an unaffiliated, Christ-centered children’s and youth camp located on Lake Waccamaw, NC. Each summer they have 5 sessions of week-long camp. I grew up camping and working at Ambassador Camp and I am excited for the opportunity we have to serve the Lord at this amazing place. We will be going up prior to these five sessions and assisting their staff with preparation for the upcoming summer activities. We will be able to accomplish larger projects that they would not be able to do on their own. The work will include possibilities for outdoor painting of buildings, landscape maintenance, weather-proofing a dock, roofing, updating equipment, etc.
Lodging will be on site in the boys and girls cabins that are heated and cooled bunkhouses. Food will also be served on site in the dining hall. To find out more, click here, about Ambassador Camp.
Parents, if you are interested in coming along with us to assist in the coordination of specific work areas please feel welcome! If you have areas of expertise from gardening to roofing to plumbing, we can use you! The cost of the trip will be $150 per person including meals, travel, lodging and equipment. Scholarships are available if the cost is prohibitive. Please contact Mr. Dinkins at 803.236.2464 to sign up. The deadline to sign up and pay your $50 deposit is May 23rd. The balance of $100 will be due June 13th, the day before we leave. Pray with me as we anticipate how the Lord will use our service for His glory. We will discuss this project and receive questions at the May 16th Parent’s Meeting.
Grace and peace,
Benjamin Scott Dinkins
